Bern – Switzerland’s capital, famed for its UNESCO-listed medieval old town.
Jungfraujoch – the ‘Top of Europe’, set amid 4,000m-class peaks and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. -Eiger Express + mountain railway (optional): Take the tri-cable gondola (~15 min) to Eiger Glacier Station, then connect by cogwheel train (~25 min) to Jungfraujoch. -Sphinx Observatory Terrace: Around 3,571m, with 360° views of Jungfrau, Mönch, Eiger and the Aletsch Glacier. -Ice Palace: A -3°C ice world carved by artists—ice tunnels and vivid sculptures (e.g., eagle, penguin, bear). -Alpine Sensation: A multimedia experience linking the Sphinx Terrace and Ice Palace, celebrating the Jungfrau Railway’s history. Leukerbad – Switzerland’s most famous alpine thermal resort, known since Roman times. -Leukerbad Therme: The largest public thermal baths in the Swiss Alps (28–43°C) with indoor/outdoor pools, kids’ area, slides and sauna. Walliser Alpentherme & Spa: One of Europe’s largest wellness complexes, featuring Roman-Irish baths, multiple temperature/humidity zones, steam and thermal facilities.
Saas-Fee – the ‘Pearl of the Alps’, celebrated for glacier views, a clean car-free environment and year-round activities. -Car-free village: Since 1952, fuel cars are banned; transport is mainly by small electric vehicles/horse carriages. In summer, enjoy hiking and possible marmot spotting. -Mittelallalin – three ‘world’s best’ experiences (optional): Highest underground funicular in an ice tunnel to 3,462m; a rotating restaurant with 360° mountain views; and a large ice cave/ice pavilion. Locarno – mild climate and Mediterranean charm; host city of the Locarno International Film Festival. -Piazza Grande: A lakeside pedestrian square lined with cafés and shops—main venue for film festival and major events. -Madonna del Sasso Sanctuary (optional): Take the funicular to Orselina to visit the famous hilltop pilgrimage church.
Bellinzona – in the Italian-speaking region, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its castles and southern flair. -Castelgrande: The largest and oldest of Bellinzona’s three castles; take the elevator up for panoramic views. (Other castles: Montebello & Sasso Corbaro.) -Old Town: Enjoy a relaxed walk and a taste of medieval atmosphere. Schwyz – the origin of the German name ‘Schweiz’ and the English ‘Switzerland’; the Swiss flag’s white cross also traces back to the canton’s emblem. Stoos – a charming alpine plateau resort, famous for its distinctive ‘barrel’ funicular. -Stoos steep funicular (optional): Opened in 2017 and among the steepest funiculars in the world (~47.7°). Ride to the car-free village and the 360° viewpoint over lakes and alpine peaks. Lindt Home of Chocolate (Kilchberg) – a modern, immersive chocolate experience. -Chocolate Museum: Features one of the world’s tallest free-standing chocolate fountains, interactive exhibits and a chocolate-making workshop (advance booking required).
